Fragrante was born in 1927, in the hills above Sorrento, where Luigi Scognamiglio quietly crafted his own bitter liqueur each September. With a handful of wild rosemary, freshly peeled lemon zest, and a secret mix of coastal herbs, he would retreat to a small back shed to steep, taste, and bottle the year’s supply of amaro—an intensely personal ritual rooted in the rhythms of the land.

His recipe was never written down—only passed from hand to hand, generation to generation. For Luigi, amaro was more than a drink. It was a way of marking time, honoring place, and gathering people.

Many years later, Daniel, Luigi’s great-grandson, decided it was time to bring that story to life again. With reverence for the original formula and a spirit of reinvention, he created Fragrante Amaro Insolito—a bold reinterpretation of the family’s bittersweet legacy.

The old shed is gone, and the humble pots have been replaced by stainless steel vats. The recycled bottles Luigi once used have evolved into elegant, modern glass. But the essence remains unchanged: fragrant, herbal, and unmistakably Mediterranean.
